Desert Trek: let our guides take you around Morocco’s countryside and landscape.
Cross the magnificent Tichka Pass, visit the Valley of the Roses, climb the famous sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, enjoy the camel trek experience and sleep in Berber tents in the middle of the desert.
This adventure is a wonderful way of experiencing the Moroccan Sahara Desert. We’ll take you there by road and along the way we’ll show you Morocco’s culture and architecture and provide you with insights into the Moroccan way of life and history.
The Sahara is perhaps the most famous desert and this trek will take you right into it. The desert is a beautiful, romantic place, especially at dawn and in the evenings.
Day 1 : Marrakech / Dades
Our trekking adventure will start when we cross the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass of the High Atlas mountains. We will pass through many Berber villages, and once in the desert, we’ll see riverside oasis and barren hillsides that are clustered with Kasbahs. After lunch we’ll drive farther to Valley of the Roses, with beautiful views of the Dades valley, valley of a thousand kasbahs. Overnight stay will be in Dades.
Day 2 : Dades / Merzouga / Sahara Desert
After breakfast we’ll drive to Todra Gorge and after a short stop there we’ll continue driving to “Auberge du Sud” at the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We will arrive there around 4 and after a short break we will ride camels into the dunes, where we will spend the night in Berber tents. After witnessing one of the most beautiful sunsets we will enjoy a fantastic dinner.
Day 3 : Merzouga / Ait Ben Haddou
After contemplating one of the most beautiful sunrises and having enjoyed breakfast at the camp site we will trek with our camels back to the auberge. From there it will be a long day driving back to Marrakech, again via Tichka Pass.
Day 4 : Ait ben Haddou / Marrakech
