Visit the Berbers and their communities in this wonderful little trek in the High Atlas Mountains. The High Atlas is a place of great natural beauty that won’t fail to move you with its scale and variety. This is the home of the Berbers and they have lived here amongst the grasslands, the plateaus and the mountains for many generations. This is a great adventure trek to get to know the Berbers and their culture.

Your tour guide will show you where the locals live, what they eat and what they do. You’ll have the chance to interact with them too.

Day 1 : Marrakech / Imlil

Starting early, we’ll trek east from Imlil to the Imnane Valley. From there we’ll hike up winding mule tracks to the Tizi n’ Tamatert at 2279 metres above sea level (ASL) to enjoy an amazing panorama of the Atlas Mountains range.

At lunch time, we can picnic at Tizi ‘n Tamatert, overlooking Jebel Oukaimeden (3200 metres ASL) and its beautiful plateau. After lunch we‘ll set off hiking and follow the path down to Imnane Valley. We will spend the night in a local gite.

Approx. walking duration is  4 hours

Day 2 : Imnane Valley / Imlil

After breakfast, we’ll trek down the Assif Imnane Valley, passing throught some Berber villages and then up to the Tizi ‘n Ageursiwal at 2000 metres. Once we pass the col we will go down more winding mule tracks that lead us to the village of Aguersioual. Here we will have our lunch before returning to Imlil.
